What can I say? This is a very tightly woven piece of black cotton fabric. It's the deep black that makes colors in quilts pop. The dye goes all the way to the selvage, as you can see in the second picture.
This is great to keep on hand if you do much sewing of any kind. Because of its quality & high thread count, you can use it in almost anything from binding to Goth costuming, from cuffs & collars to leggings or aprons.
It is very difficult to photograph deep black, but you can get a real sense of this if you close your eyes tight. ;-)
