Are you a child of the 80's like Wooly is? Did you own a pair (or 10) of acid wash jeans too? Wooly can remember when she acid washed a pair of overalls, so she would be totally rad while working in the garden.
The yarn was kettle dyed with a navy hue that resulted in this variegated looking blue that is reminiscent of Wooly's famous overalls. 100% Merino wool; DK weight. 246 yards / 3.5 oz. skein. Nice & soft!
This is not a super wash yarn and should felt well...if you are a felter. If you aren't a felter, we recommend hand washing and air drying anything you make with this.
Wooly knitted & crocheted small samples of what the yarn looks like made into fabric. See the pictures. It pairs well with our Acid Wash Jeans Boucle yarn.
Once upon a time, yarns like this one were called ‘orphans’. Why? Because most projects require multiple skeins of yarn to complete, like sweaters or afghans. We here at OWD prefer to call them One Skein Wonders because there are many things that can be done with a single skein; hats, baby things, scarves, doll hair, embroidery embellishments.
OSW’s occur for two reasons: 1) Wooly was experimenting with dye colors and only dyed one skein or 2) all but one skein of a certain colorway were purchased and that specific color combo could not be recreated exactly.
